Lil' Dolly Designs is a full-service web and graphic design shop, ready to fulfill your business needs. We specialize in providing boutique businesses, especially wahm's, affordable, unique and integrative website solutions.

Lil' Dolly Designs tend to be a little girlie, feminine and usually vintage-inspired. Bold colors and eye-catching designs are our trademark.

Lil' Dolly Designs is named for my grandmother, Dolores, who everyone called "Dolly." She truly was a doll, inside and out. I miss her very much and am so sad she never got to see her great-grandchildren.

And, yes, that really is her picture in my logo!

My name is Kelly and I'm the force behind Lil' Dolly Designs. Many artists that I create websites for ask me how I do it... stay at home taking care of my children during the day and then going to work on the computer every night. The answer is simple. I love what I do and there is virtually no line between work and play for me. Designing is a passion for me. If it wasn't a job, it would be a hobby. My grandfather always told me, if you love what you do you never work a day in your life. How true.

Professionally, I have BA's in Mass Communication and Women's Studies. Right after college I realized that I didn't know what I wanted to to do with myself, so my dad - who is always ready with "suggestions" for what I should do with my life - sent me to get professionally certified as a Web Developer. This was back in 1999, right at the start of the dot com boom.

Anya

After getting my certifications in Web Design & Development, I headed to Boston and worked as an eBusiness consultant at a prestigious business consulting firm, then left that for a dot com startup. There, I was a Campaign Manager for online advertising campaigns. Although the company eventually was sold to a bigger one, I enjoyed my time there and learned valuable lessons on managing many projects at once, customer service, and of course, functional web design.

After 9/11 I moved back to Virginia, got married to my college "sweetheart" and had my first child. I always thought I would be a work-outside-of-the-home-mom, but after my maternity leave was up, I couldn't bring myself to leave Anya on a full time basis.

So I didn't.

After many different turns, yet another move, and another baby, I came to the conclusion that a web-based business was the only way I could attempt to "have it all."

Having always been an artsy kinda person, web design has become my calling. Lil' Dolly Designs affords me the opportunity to stay home with my children, work for myself, be creative and help other WAHMs succeed in their ventures as well. I couldn't ask for more!

Please know that your business is truly appreciated and by purchasing a web site from Lil' Dolly, you are helping me realize my dream of staying home with my children and working at home.
